I want to be a Herpetologist!
A herpetologist is somebody who likes reptiles. Reptiles are things that have scales. They are cold blooded.
Yesterday, we went to the library and we saw reptiles. It was awesome. It was actually more than awesome. It was be-awesome!
We saw a big fat red iguana, a ball python, a giant tortoise, a small boa constrictor (which swallows its prey live), and a giant python. We even got to touch some of the reptiles.

This albino Burmese python is more than nine feet long. Her name is Huggy Bear. I wish I could keep her. Then Lulu would have to stay out of my room.
Huggy Bear is a giant long wiggly stick of muscles. She doesn't bite. She only eats about once every three weeks. You don't have to be afraid of her, she won't eat you.

Above and below, here we have two Common Green Iguanas. A little green one, and a giant gray one. An interesting thing about these iguanas is that they are the exact same thing, just one is older. If you feed the little one pretty well for like six years, it will grow as big as the gray one. They don't tell you that at the pet store when you buy the little one.

The big iguana lives with the reptile lady because he bit off his owner's nose. Ow! If you are going to have a reptile for a pet, you have to be really careful to take care of it, and to keep it and everyone else safe.
I also got to see and touch some bearded dragons. They would make great pets because they squirt blood out of their eyes. Maybe that's horned toads, I forget. But it's to scare away their enemies, so the enemies think they are dying.

Bearded dragons live in the desert. Horned toads do, too. I didn't actually see any horned toads at the reptile show, but I just know that.
The bearded dragons were staring at the dinosaur on my shirt. I don't know who was more scared, the dragons or Rex.

I think reptiles are cool because they are great pets, even if you can't have a dragon. I like creepy crawly things, especially things that other people hate. The big fat red iguana had shed its skin the day we were there, I think that's so neat.
Last night, I had trouble falling asleep because I was so excited about one more really cool thing. The lady and man that had the python (and all the reptiles) at the library have a reptile refuge at their house. And, they specially invited my family to their house this weekend. I can't wait!
And do you know something funny? Of course, you might know it, the reptile house is located in Snook (mayor of Snook)!
My mom helped me write this, but they are my words.
